Pet Portraiture

This is definitely something that I'd like to get into!

Taela and I spent an hour on the golf course next door (no play yet - there's still some snow around!) today, having a blast taking photo's!

Well, I was having a blast and, as long as she wasn't being "posed", Taela was having a great time chasing the ball, too!

I'm hoping that I'm getting close to "salable" quality. What do you think? If Taela was your dog, would you consider buying photo's from me?
(More on my flickr page, if you're interested).

And there has to be at least one of these in every shoot:

  1. I love this dog! I think you're ready. I gotta do more shoots of my kitties. Now I'm inspired. I found a book Professional Techniques for Pet and Animal Photography, by Debrah H. Muska, Amherst Media. It shows lighting for studio portraits. But I think I like the natural stuff you're doing. I'm interested too.

  2. Thanks, Karen! Appreciate the encouragement!

  3. Oh my word Tanya! Your dog, Taela, is gorgeouis. These pictures are fantastic! I really love the reflection shot. So creative!

  4. I really enjoyed this post. You write about this topic very well. There are many cherished moments in life, why not wear a beautiful dress! When looking back on special memories of your child wearing a gorgeous dress, it will make a fond memory.
